Here's the link to the newest updates-2.1.1 and 2.0.9. If you use Fantastico, you can go there and that will tell you what WP version you have and if you need an upgrade, you can just click from there and it will automatically do it. One is a security update. I think its been out about a week. I didn't do it and got hacked again! My blog with the update, didn't get hacked though I could see they were trying.

I think I need to change my hosting company, I have had trouble all month since I started with them. :(

Which hosting company are you using?

If you don't require any server management/support, I could most likely throw you on my dedicated server. If you're interested, let me know what you would require and anything else I should know.

One more tip - don't rely on Fantastico for software updates. They have to update their software with the updates before you can update yours and quite often they are a few releases behind... always check the developers site

whatever you do, make sure you ask for opinions on a hosting company before you order. There are soooooo many crappy hosts out there.

Agua, that is bad advice. I run my own server and have Fantastico set to download new updates for the few things I use it for. If it's behind, then your host isn't updating properly.

I find it so much easier to update everything with it rather than doing it manually one at a time.

How is that bad advice?

Mate - what better way to keep your software updated than to go straight to the source rather than relying on a) Fantastico to update it or b) your host to update it!!

If I may make a recommendation.
Try PetaHosting - Reliable Web Hosting
they are very small and privately hosted with only about 33 sites, but they are very good. All support gets answered within 6 hours(every question i've ever asked got answered within the hour) and they are smart enough to actually fix the problems. Its very rare when i get a private hosting account, but I go with them every time.

My websites I have hosted with them have only been down once for one scheduled hour in the last 4 years.

I hate putting the name out there, because the owner of the hosting company is working his butt off trying to make everything right and I'm still hosting with him. I have to think about that.
The reason I switched is because of his availability and help when he transferred a small forum that was being hosted with him, that I bought. He was available IM and always went above and beyond with help even before I switched to him for hosting. I've learned a lot from him. If I change hosting, I'd go back in a minute if he could figure out his problems and have more dependable/secure service.

The fantastico update has the current update available (they state which version it is) and doing it by myself is beyond my skill level!

CLKeenan-I'm thinking I do need server management/support, but not even sure what exactly that is! I do need a reseller account and room to upgrade later.

Do you know how much bandwidth/hd space you use right now and how much load you put on the server?

I have a Dual Xeon 3.4GHz HT/2GB DDR2 RAM/2x73GB SCSI HDs so I have enough server for you to expand to most likely but the support would be the issue when you start doing the reseller account because I have Platinum Server Management and they don't provide support for resellers.

Very little right now but I would need the reseller support. Thank you for the info, it's appreciated.
