If you want a good laugh check out digg's homepage. Looks like someone is having some fun gaming them.

Yeah, I was just going to write about it, but you stole my thunder!

It's pretty amusing.. for 10 seconds.

Fucking pieces of shit are knocking my story off the front page by burying it because it doesnt have the magic numbers in it... COCK SUCKING BASTARDS!

Hahahaha.. even the domain names for the HD-DVD code are all taken. Maybe this is a bit more amusing now that I know what's going on!

I wonder if you could profit from bidding on "09 f9 11 02 9d 74 e3 5b d8 41 56 c5 63 56 88 c0" . What would one sell? HD-DVDs, or how to get laid ebooks? haha!

I hope digg burns for this.

Not because I'm particularly enraged by the issue, just that I always get a smile out of corporate bastards failing because they didn't listen to users. Actually just corporate bastards failing gives me a tingle.

Thats the only thing on the Digg front page right now. Know why? That number is an AACS decryption key for HD-DVD. Recently, a sponsership was given to Digg by HDDVD. HD-DVD asks digg to remove all submissions containing this code, digg complies. What next? They make a post explaining their actions, efveryone gets pissed, and began copyrighting numbers. The Digg homepage is floooooooooded with numbers right now, all because of that dumb move. Know the best part? If they didn't make that apology post, none of this would have happened! Expect this to go on for a while... Digg is dead.

More to the story. Digg accepted a HDDDRIVE sponsorship. And it looks like...they're copyrighting numbers?!

can't say I agree with you. Digg isn't really classified as one of the corporate bastards, as say, Verizon or AT&T for instance.

Anyway, I took the opportunity and submitted a post to Digg with those numbers...so far around 80 diggs within 15 minutes.
