Do most advertisers pay on downsell exit traffic?

If I send traffic to an advertiser's page, and the user backs out and goes to their down sell exit page and buys that instead, do I get paid for the down sell?

For example lets take Robert Allen:

You can exit out of his page more than once to the point where his offer is only $14.99 instead of $49.99 if you buy straight away.

Will he pay out $45 for this down sell like if you sold his full product?

I know in my porn days, advertisers DID NOT pay affiliates for down sells. So I am basically wondering if that is still standard practice today.

well the main train of thought is to NOT pay you anything so the advertiser can keep more $$$ for their greedy lil selves IMO

Depends on the agreement, but a lot of the time they don't, but it's factored into the payout.

Typically is all calculated into a single cpa. So if the exit is to another offer they may know % on that and calc it into the Cpa price. If they do a downsell coupon or something for the same product this is usually paid for as well.

Each advertiser has a different opinion on paying for the down sell. I think most do. If the down sell is offered through a chat bot, the commission is typically paid out to the chat bot company.

Or do you mean it's calculated in the original CPA price and the actual down sell isn't paid out if someone takes an action there instead of on the original straight sale price?

Most advertisers lose money on the front end (your CPA) then hope to profit on the backend.

Yea that is pretty much how it goes, but depending on which network/advertiser you go through, everyone pays out differently, so just look around and find the one that works best for you!
