In my opinion Squidoo is like making blog on blogspot.com with a little difference of being called lens instead of blog. Squidoo according to my knowledge plays good role in google ranking. (I use to read many articles online I'm Search Engine Optimiser). Google consider squidoo lens while assigning ranking.

Google loves Squidoo. I think it loves Squidoo more than Ezine and hubpages. In fact, I have seen many lens in the first page of Google. If your niche is good and you have done good keyword research, then you might get good number of traffic from a lense
