Does google ban high CTR sites?

They don't do that as a general policy, but somebody with a 100% CTR is probably more likely to be banned (and a lot more likely to arouse suspicion) than somebody with a 5% CTR.
 
The site will probably be eventually reviewed, and if you are breaking the TOS, sure you could be banned. Banned for just a high clickthrough rate? I don't think so.

Google's anti-fraud "algorithm" looks at multiple factors and they really don't reveal what those factors are. So, high clickthrough rate plus you clicking your own ads might be a ban, or some other suspicious activity. Don't really know for sure, its more or less a guess.

Bottom line, follow the TOS and you don't have anything to worry about. In fact, it seems like google has mostly just been warning people. Yahoo on the other hand, you'll just get kicked out of their beta no chance of getting back in.
 
I once started a site and it got 50,000 uniques on the 5th day and in the high 30% CTR and my account got banned. Although I guess the high amount of crap targetted traffic was an indication lol

So were you breaking their TOS or you just got banned for having a high CTR?

He was obviously breaking a rule in their TOS.

You DO NOT get banned just for having a high CTR...
 
I have come to realize that many of the people you read about who claim innocence and were banned because of something like a high CTR% were trying to scheme in one way or another.
