Does moving hosts affect rankings?

I have a site at the minute which I am moving to a new host. Will the new IP address for the site affect my SE rankings etc?

There won't be much downtime on the site and it will be exactly the same setup but just in a new data center.

I am just worried about losing my longtails

No It will not. We move hundreds of sites a month to our network over the years and have never heard of rankings being affected. Se's are not stupid, they know people move their sites around sometimes.

NO. I just moved a bunch of my sites off GoDaddy and the ranks did not move.

You should be safe. Make sure your file names stay the same tho.

It helps to get everything moved to the new host before switching nameservers, so that there is no downtime during migration.
