Does your mind ever go blank when your working?

Happens to me sometimes too! I find myself doing 1 thing and my mind wanders off somewhere.. so when i snap back in it, im totally blank! (lol)

Make sure you are eating right and having enough sleep at night. Also eat breakfast in the morning.

Another thing is try to avoid working while under the influence of anything because your productivity can get pretty low.. :smokin:

I feel better! This my friends is the phenomena well known as ADD. Isn't it a bitch? That's why the boobies were put on this forum to snap our attention back.

Hi Sorry for confusion - I wasnt actually advocating weed, more finding out if you had a habit which can be one of the first things to get in the way of clear thinking. Eg - if you were going into hospital for a bit of brain surgery would you want a surgeon operating on you who is stoned.

Sometimes, but when that happens, I'll just quickly write down everything I can remotely think of regarding to the subject at hand, regardless of how relevant it is.

Then I'll take a break, take the dog for a walk, or whatever. When I come back to the computer, my mind is usually cleared up, and ready for work again.

For the past few weeks I've been feeling really out of it when working on stuff. When I'm not working I think of new ideas for campaigns and if im having problems with a campaign I can usually figure out why pretty easily why my campaign is not working...

But when it comes down to actually working on a landing page or a campaign, I just draw a blank. Its like all the knowledge ive learned over the years just disappears and I do stupid mistakes that I know I shouldn't be doing.

Once I get done working and finish the job I'll think its pretty good. Then 10 minutes later ill go back to it and look at it and laugh at the stupid mistakes I've made.

But when I go back to change everything around it starts happening again. I lose focus and next thing you know I feel like I dont know shit even though I know the answer.

I swear I feel like I have alzheimer's or something. Like my brain shuts off when its most needed.

Anyone go through this shit?

I've experienced something similar before. The main thing that worked for me is to exercise and have a good diet. Also do some brain exercises and take some brain pills like phosphatidylserine or ginkgo biloba. Also get enough sleep.

jesus I wish I had that problem. My mind is like thought on top of thought on top of thought. Constantly curious and solving equations.

A lot of losing concentration plays into how much you sleep & when (its best to get your hours in BEFORE Midnight), what your eating & drinking, and how you go about your work. I have the same problem but sleeping more on a regular schedule has helped alot. That and a lot of coke hahaha

I do this. I have the same problem though I will get distracted for a minute or two, try to get back to what I was doing and forget where I was, etc..so now I just take notes like a motherfucker. Even if I'm taking a 5 minute scheduled break or lunch or whatever I just write down the task I am working on, then when I go back I can just look down and see where I'm at.

It happens to everyone. Could be undiagnosed ADHD.. but it could just be a mental strain / performance anxiety. As others have mentioned, exercise, good sleep cycle, and frequent breaks will help you immensely. Also what I find helpful is don't just sit in front of the PC because you THINK you have work to do. Alternatively, Define clear objectives to complete throughout your time off of the PC, clarify them, and actually tackle them on your (now reduced) 'work' time.

same things people mentioned here
if you have employees try to have good fengshui in their own spaces so they don't attract the same issues. THIS could hurt you even more.
drink green tea from an earth stone mug and look at clouds at least once per day

When i want to do internet marketing and feeling not doing it , i went to youtube and listen to music videos or comedies.

Go to bed no later than 11 for about a week and wake up around 7 in the morning. I'd be willing to bet you'd feel a huge difference if you're not already sleeping well. Get outside during the day - take a walk, run, sit in the sun, whatever. Cut sugars from your diet and eat more protein. Get organized.

I have this problem a lot, but I know why - I have the equivalent of two full-time jobs piled on top of each other and two young boys to raise in the space left over. My routine is so structured I can feel every missed hour of sleep and I can tell if I used up too much energy and brain power in one area of the day than I normally do. Get a structured routine, write things down, use a calendar or whiteboard to help you keep on track. Most importantly you need to rest - your brain organizes and improves while you rest, not while you're working or reading. Work hard, sleep hard, repeat.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm only 24 and the same thing happens to me occassionally, so I wouldn't worry too much that it's Alzheimer's or anything like that. It usually happens when I'm tired or drowsy, especially after a heavy meal. The lousy chair I'm sitting on and my resulting bad posture probably contribute to the problem as well.

Many times I gets out of ideas while posting and writing articles and need to relax for sometime to write further and come up with new ideas.
