hello all,

i just inherited 8 domains, most with computer and tech related names. what is the best way to park these and maximize the earning potential? ive heard sedo sucks, ive heard nothing but good about the automated video wordpress plug-in...but i would like to hear a few more opinions. what else is out there?

i use wordpress, so the automated video plug in sounds great.

also, im not sure if this is too far off the subject but i recenetly grabbed a copy of phpbay, but got fucking denied by epn...is it possible to have a niche store using wordpress' phpbay plug in without a epn account? ...if so, is that the best way to make some cash off parking a few domains.

thank you!

You need an EPN account to get paid, so even if phpbay would work without it, it'd be pretty pointless. However, you can actually use EPN via Pepperjam - another affiliate network. Sign up with Pepperjam and then join the eBay program there. If I recall correctly, phpbay will work with your Pepperjam ID as well. You may want to check the payouts - I would guess that you're going to make a lower percentage via Pepperjam than you would if you went directly to the EPN, however, some money is better than no money.

There's no guarantee you'll be accepted by Pepperjam or eBay via Pepperjam, but it's worth a shot.

As far as domain parking options - it sounds like you're looking for a way to monetize unused domains, not necessarily park them. Parking makes me think of services like Sedo or GoDaddy's parking where all you do is point your DNS server entries at the registrar to their DNS servers and they handle hosting, content, etc. for you and (sometimes) give you a small cut of their PPC earnings on that domain.

Using Wordpress entails having hosting setup on the domain, which means it takes a little more work and cash than just parking the domain. However, doing it that way means you have a lot more control over how the domain is monitized and stand to make more money since you're receiving all of the revenue, and not just a cut.

Right now, out of sheer laziness, my unused domains are either at Sedo (where I've made literally pennies - don't waste your time) or at the registrar, where I'm not getting anything for them. I, too, want to set something basic up so I at least have a chance of making something off these currently unused domains, so I'm curious to hear what people use. GoDaddy, Sedo, etc., are all obviously using a script to manage their parked domains - I'd imagine there's similar scripts out there to purchase, and it may not even be that hard to write your own, I've never really pursued it...what methods are people using, and what are you seeing success with?

great, thanks for the input - i signed up with pepperjam and will await their response.

as far as parking, you are right, im not just parking them, they are already hosted i checked all the sites yesterday...and went into my godaddy cp and checked out the dns.

ill keep my fingers crossed with pepperjam...its sucks to have to go through a middle man, but hey, some money is better than none...you have a point.

so i guess lets hear it - what are people doing out there to maximize profit off their domains that are just sitting there?

did you just sign up as an Affiliate or to be accepted into our EPN program. PM me. I might be able to help.

so is there a way to :bump: in wf? i am still pretty interested in how most people monetize their domains while being parked.....

is there a way to actually do some decent seo work on parked domains? ive signed up with parked, and am still pending with domainsponsor.

Domain PArking option

I'd go with either SEdo or Parked.com, but the sponsorships are decreasing I guess... or unless your niche has a lot of advertisers.

The good thing about Parked is the opportunity of monetizing from your domains even if they are just parked.... which is a good passive income, but you wont get the whole portion though.. just the commission..

i signed up with pepperjam about a month ago and still haven't been accepted to ebay. has anyone here?

Stick with parked for now...

But keep in mind - chances are there are many other much more lucrative ways to monetize this...check your CPA networks and see what offers you can build an offer around...

Also I don't think anyone asked but...do these names get ANY traffic? If they don't - it's a waste to park

i placed 4 on parked and 5 on namedrive - i am seeing a small amount of traffic come through in one day...not much, but there is some...i see in one day on parked i have a lot of 'searches'...which probably doesnt mean much. :)
