Win XP x64 runs fine. Except that all system files etc that is in the memory there has to be 2 versions of, 32 and 64 bit, so it uses more memory. Also very few software doesnt work on it. Like adobe cs2 software had some problems, thank god for cs3 now.

@Rodger

My P4 dell from 2004 surfs the web faster than my new vista laptop
The speed at which web pages load is primarily based of the bandwidth of your internet connection.

For Example..

Dial-up (56k) is slow... If you have the most expensive, bad ass, 6 lcd monitor SLI 15krpm hd's w/ dual $1000 processors.. Its still going to drag ass on that dial up.

Move into the last computer age (like 5 years ago - move up at least to that point) and get cable/dsl....

like 3 mbit (1024x3)k porn loads faster and you can actually stream decent videos at 320x240 or so.

also, laptop=wireless connection (slower) and desktop=wired connection (faster).

If you can't handle buying/upgrading a PC with 2 gigs of ram, you should probably be looking at a free OS. :D

I dual-booted my vista laptop with Ubuntu and damn it's been a good combo. Ubuntu isn't as good as Vista as a desktop but it's still kick ass.
