Easier way to make websites?

So a big problem I have with getting work done is the fact I hate coding and I hate building websites. I think its tedious and it ruins my work mood. I know how to build websites and create most things I need for a website, but I'm also terribly inefficient at it.

So I've always wondered if there was an easier way to do it. Or if there is a noobie program out there that will let you create a website on a blank canvas and then when your done kinda print it out into a website. Almost like doing it in photoshop and exporting as an html but i need something that will code it aswell. Even if its the most basic of coding...

Is there any program out there that will let me do this? I come up with with a bunch of ideas for websites and designs, but coding is holding back productivity.

I don't want to outsource the job because I hate waiting. I want the idea fresh in my head then I want to apply it as soon as possible.

Any ideas?

I would say use Wordpress. I am not a coder, and with all the plugins and themes you really do not have to be a coder to use wordpress.

Using Hostgator or Godaddy, you can generally create a basic site in 1-2 hours.

Hope that helps.

yea I recently started using wordpress. only problem is...

the fuckin shit is a pain in the ass to customize. Its cool for people looking for basic blog sites or generic simple template websites. But it has no flexibility unless you know what your doing and the last thing i want to do is mess with wordpress.

I'm talking about creating quick simple websites so I can put up a big image in certain areas and have text in certain places. Basically make the website a billboard. Wordpress doesn't let you do that. I'm sure you could but its not built for that.

There's something like this but I can't remember the name, it basically is a plugin for photoshop which helps you develop the PSD into a full on site using a wysiwyg editor. I'll see if I can find it for you.

I can't find it, maybe it's in the bookmarks on my work CPU. I did just find something called basekit while I was googling around...not sure how good it is.

Thanks i'll look into it.

Pay a guy on fiverr

Yea I wouldn't have any problem hiring someone to do it. It's just the turn around time is annoying. I need to be able to create something new and turn it around and start testing it immediately. Waiting like 3-5 days for someone to code it and get back to me is a huge time sink.

I don't think there is such a program or at least people on here have never used it or heard of it because its probably something made for beginners. If someone could make a program that would allow you to work on a blank canvas like photoshop where you could drag images in and move them around and create a website then when finished pump out a coded site you'd be a millionaire. Dunno how difficult that would be to create though. Photoshop kinda has something like it, but when you turn it into an html it puts everything in tables and is just horrible to work with so the whole code part that photoshop puts out is useless.

Try RapidWeaver. It's only for Mac though, so if you're still stuck in 2001, hard luck. :D

You can get templates/themes for it (you get a load as standard) and, for a wysiwyg editor, it writes great mark-up and can pump out sites fast.

artisteer?

IMO all auto generated codes are horrible, always hand code if you look for quality

Not many unique answers, I guess most folks here would prefer to do it themselves or hire a VA.

Adobe Dreamweaver is the gold standard for what you're describing, but it's Adobe, so it's not beginner friendly.

For an app that's easy to use, very WYSIWYG, and it doesn't matter what the code looks like - I'd say Freeway Pro for Mac is your best bet. Softpress: Freeway, powerful, easy-to-use web design software for the Mac

Or you can just install the Wordpress plugin that some of the html bros in this thread are using, which appears to be a beginner-friendly WYSIWYG graphics-to-html editor that barfs out validated HTML5 in 3 seconds, makes an entire industry obsolete and pings Google Maps for nearby rub and tugs when you're done being a bro.

I don't get why somebody would be in an industry that pretty much requires building websites when they suck at building websites but a guy I know who sucks at internet thinks central.ly is just the best thing ever.
