Is anyone successfully using the ebay affiliate program? I'm messing around with it and like how I can show whatever items for a specific search. But is there a way to show random items from multiple searches?

Like right now I am showing a specific hoodie search, but I would like to throw in some t-shirts and things. The problem is if you do a general term like clothes then you lose your ads targetted to your niche. Any ideas?

I think if you target well, then you may have success. You can't always sell what you want to sell (as obvious as it sounds). Sell what you think your visitors may buy... That's assuming they are 18 and have an Ebay account... I guess it doesn't necessarily matter if they have an account, but getting a new member to sign up is harder than getting a current member to buy.

That is what I am trying to do since my CPA banners have sucked ass. I should have just thrown some cpm banners up and actually made something. Shoemoney said on his blog that it is working for him, but it seems like guys like him and Jon can turn a profit on anything.

Is there a way to show ads for multiple searches? For instance I have a banner that shows auctions based on a search and want to show ads for red cars and blue cars. Or do I have to set up a code for each search and rotate the codes?

Hey Shoe...

One of your most recent podcast don't you kind of rip ebay advertising and say you might as well do contextual?

And by trying all 5,000 things on CJ, do you have to manually check up on each one to make sure the offer is still good, and replace old code with new code?

PS I like the show

It's just code =P

I wrote a Google API program to upload massive amounts of ad groups at the click of a button how hard can EBay be?

With a couple hundred bucks and a getafreelancer account you can have just about anything programmed.

I wouldn't mind sharing the program at all.

Here is the disclaimer:

Googles API credit system blows ass. I manage to burn to 500,000 credits in 2 hours flat.

I abandoned the project a while back but still have my sources lying around. Anyone who wants them I will clean up the code and remove my developer token and PM or email it to them.

Send me a PM and I'll gladly send you my source.

What my program did was take a list of keywords and put them in a given template.

say you had wickedfire as your keyword (there is no limit on keywords, I had lists of 10K+) it would then take a template structured with ## as the wildcard.

Then replace each ## in the template with your keyword and upload it to adwords with the ad creative you specify.

template ex:
wow ## rocks
## for president
i hate ##

so your keyword list would in essence look like:

wow wickedfire rocks
wickedfire for president
i hate wickedfire

Hopefully you get the gist. Only think in massive scale like 10,000 keyword lists fully automated.

I'm sure there is more I'm leaving out; it was very fun to do until I kept eating up my monthly credits faster than I could get them.

I moved on to a non API version that I, unfortunately can't release the source because it's what I am currently using.

The source is in C#.

Registration now open for the revised AdWords API Beta program

quota meaning you can only use their API so much before they cut you off. Kind of like those piece of shit bartenders when you've had too much to drink!

I was more talking about getting ebay to certify your application so you have unlimited api calls. They told us over 500 people had similar applications but we were the only one that has been approved.

unapproved apps are limited to 1,000 calls a day (which works for low traffic sites)

This is for custom program things right? Not for the editor tool kit thingie for a specific search? I have a specfic niche search that I show, that isn't limited to 1,000 is it?

*Here's a possible tip for people. I have a banner on my niche that shows the ebay items. I have 5 specfic searches for this niche that are randomly displayed. It is working with myspace traffic, so it sure as fuck should work with normal traffic.

I have some e-bay banners up through CJ on one of my niche sites how do I throw up specific search results???????

heres a link; http://detectorX.com

I have been trying to get some sort of CPA ads to work here with no success, if I could show results for metal detectors, coins and other treasure related stuff im sure I could convert with it on this site.

That's what I thought when I saw it too. I just made my first $2.44 off of I think a sweatshirt.
