I'm looking to build an email list of investors.

Last time I created an offer to collect emails, I spent $140k and pretty much bought a load of bs emails.

Any idea's on how to run an email submit campaign and avoid getting ripped off, other than having a product and processing cc's?

Thanks

So, collect: Name, Email, Mailing Address?

That sounds like a good idea.

How do pubs like Cash4Gold ensure they don't get shit leads?

Do they have some system for identifying the specific affiliate sending crap, and then
remove them from the program?

Would it be best to go with one small network of trusted affiliates (EWA?) rather than a bigger one like neverblue?

I don't mind spending $5/lead if they're good quality.

LittleMike, if you really spent $140k, or had any experience in affiliate marketing, one would hope you'd know the answer to at least one of those questions.

Good luck bro

Why, because an idiot immature teenager like yourself thinks affiliate marketing is the only way to get rich?

No matter how big or small a network is, what you need is legit traffic from legit publishers.

Neverblue and EWA both are legit networks but if you want to have better control on quality, make sure your offer is set to manual approval and private. Keep a close eye on where the traffic is coming from, having the affiliates' ad copy approved & traffic sources (social, email, search) approved by the network.

Have the networks create different offers for different promotional methods (so you can evaluate each traffic source and it's respective quality) and adjust payouts accordingly.

At the end of the day, like any other advertiser and affiliate, you MUST weed out the junk traffic and keep the good traffic. That's what will make or break your offer.

That's my :2twocents:.

Thanks for the detailed response. That helps a lot.

So, say I have 200 different affiliates promoting my offer at Copeac... And I can see in my stats one affiliate (or more) is sending fake traffic.

Is there a standard way of isolating that affiliate, and then kicking him from the program within Copeac?

Yes, there is. Ask the network to pass the affiliate id to your destination URL (so your URL might me http://mywebsite.com/?source=COPEAC&affiliate-id=12345) so you can determine quality on the back-end.

Oh and have a cap on the offer like 100 or 200 leads/day per publisher to start.

Once you have the offer running, wait for a week or couple of weeks to gather data and start kicking out crap affiliates and reward quality affiliates to get ever more quality volume.

I'm not a network owner, just an affiliate, and that's how see things from my end. I'm sure another advertiser (from any niche for that matter) or even a network owner would be able to get you a LOT more info about how to control quality and become profitable as an advertiser without bleeding too much $$$ to crap traffic.

Yes, you'd be able to kick off affiliates with low lead quality no matter which network you run with. Just talk with the network you want to run with and they'd be able to tell you how.

Go to EWA. Ask to have the offer Approval Only. Tell Ryan to only let affiliates with a proven track record on his network be able to promote your email submit.

But if you are going to go this route, make sure you got a good looking submit, decent pay, and minimum scrub.

Littlemike,

I highly doubt you spent 140k on emails, if you did and didn't know their quality, you're a fucking moron.

you want to harvest emails of investors, it all depends on the type of people you want.

You want a penny stock jocky, or you want a high net worth guy that can send you real money to play with.

Stock jocky target, penny stock forums with free news letters or bulletins, High net worth people, target magazines and placements where people with money go for advice. For example Estate planning sites would be a good or a boating site, Golf.. You get the idea

This is exactly what you need to be doing.

Additionally, you'll want to research your competitors and make sure your initial CPA rate is in line with them. If you have a low rate compared to your competitors, there is no decent affiliate who will run your campaign. This applies to EPC as well, but not all networks make their EPC's readily available.

Finally, you might not want to be so quick on going private if your goal is to get volume relatively quickly. Going private will certainly have impact on the volume you are receiving. Frankly, if you aren't doing a rebill, you should be able to gauge quality on an affiliate-by-affiliate basis within 24 hours of launch. Having the back-end reporting in place to let you know quality that quickly will have better results than keeping your campaign private.

Keeping a campaign private is really only worthwhile if you are concerned about fraudulent initial bills/rebills that'll get you screwed with your merchant account provider, or if you are concerned that the methods used to promote your campaign will get you in trouble with the FTC, etc.

A Neverblue Account Executive would be glad to help you tweak your campaign to make it profitable and maximize its potential for all parties involved.

All of the above recommendations are spot on and can be easily implemented on our network, simply contact your AE or PM me. It would be worth while to discuss all the options and your expectations with your AE, as MaxSteve stated above, making decisions such as switching to private might not be the best idea, as it will limit the offer's exposure to our pubs...you need to find the right mix that works best with your offer and expectations.
