see, there's this magical website on the internet that helps newbies.
harhar, point taken. My initial post was actually about twice as long until I used the google magic to answer most of my questions. mainly i was just confused/annoyed by copeacs setup.

5 cents on content using email and zip submits will probably not make you anything, it could be possible tho

havokb8, im curious why you feel this way?

is it because of clickfraud, or the volume of clicks won't be enough or what is your thinking?

Almost all networks require the use of a suppression file if you plan on doing any emailing of the offer. It's required by the law. Consider it as a "DO NOT CALL" list for email. The people on that list are protected by the (possibly weak) CAN-SPAM Act of 2003. If you send the offer that they unsubscribed from to them, they have the grounds to take legal action against you, the sender, the ad network, AND the merchant.

The ONLY loophole I know around suppression lists are newsletters. Let's say you run a newsletter for a popular BizOpp blog. In the newsletter you have a main article, two supporting articles, links to popular blog posts, and a banner or two for offers. Since the ads are simply banners,
the offer/merchant OPT-OUT isn't required in most cases. BUT, you MUST maintain an opt-out method of your own for your newsletter so people can unsubscribe from you as the sender.

so if you're emailing this group via a secondary address so not to send it from your main email address, how does that work overall? so if you're program is at one domain and the suppression list is there. can't email those people due to the can-spam act. Do you take that list and send them offers from a secondary program? Assuming from a secondary email address as well? Interested in this topic, not saying that i'd do it, but interested. can pm details if interested.

No way man. That's about the quickest way to get on every blacklist out there. There are people who do try it, but suppression lists are seeded with dozens, perhaps hundreds, of fake email addresses from blacklists and monitoring services like Lashback, ReturnPath and Digital Veracity, and most merchants AND networks have their own seeds in place too. ANY emails sent to those seeded email addresses are in potential trouble with all parties involved, and a simple forward to the FTC could cost you an $11,000 fine per email sent. These people didn't opt-in to your list, DON'T SEND TO THEM. If you do, you'll be in a world of hurt.

But therein lies the problem with suppression files. They are for the most part unencrypted text files of a bunch of email addresses from people who actually responded. Sure the response wasn't positive (it was an opt out), but blackhat email marketers know that suppression files are 95% legitimate email addresses. So they camp out in Russia or Africa where they aren't easily accessed and use their rogue networks (aka bot networks) to send millions of Viagra ads to those email addresses.

There is a big need for a better suppression file method. Whoever figures out how to centralize, encrypt, actively seed, and monitor suppression files are in for a big payout. I wouldn't be surprised to see new products along these lines from Lashback or UnsubCentral this year.

Well friend, now it could be different for you, but ill tell you this story. A few days ago i set up a new adwords campaign and forgot to unclick the content box at 4 cents a click. then all of the sudden i saw i had 6000 clicks at 2 million impressions. I was losing money on this at 4 cents apparently i did have a landing page and of the 6000 clicks 1000 went to the offer. or so.. So i went down to 2 cents a click for content thinking i was on to something next day i had 9000 clicks, 1500 to the offer and 8 percent conversion at 1.45 which is about 175 dollars and i spent 180 dollars if my math is right. So im saying maybe if you go straight to the offer 5 cents might break even for you im just saying i have a landing page and 2 cents is about breakeven for content for me. good luck tho man

The content network sucks. Its all arbitragers selling 7search, Kanoodle, 123search and other 2nd and third tier traffic to you through Google. You're better off buying traffic direct from the 2nd and 3rd tiers and trying to make it work that way instead of buying on the content network.

havok, thanks that actually gives me some hope. You're effective conversion rate was only 1.3% , ouch... maybe that would be higher if going straight to the offer. I think I'll go with 2 cents on content like you did and adjust from there.

mkrongel, I am going to try 7search as well as adwords. I just experimented with some arbi pages on 7search and received a whopping 2 visitors over 5 days. bleh.

As long as you understand that 7Search.com doesn't let you target US! They send lots of international traffic... :)

Yes I was aware of this, thanks for the reminder. I see that some people are using [US Only] or similar in the titles to reduce non-US traffic.

Another option might be to bid on geotargeted keywords, for example "New York real estate" if you have an arbi page on real estate, mortgages, etc.
