EPC's a fraction of Facebook's suggested CPC?

I'm new, and definitely have a lot to learn, so might as well get started:

Saw an interesting offer that paid $10.00 per sale and had an EPC of $0.50. Headed over to Facebook to start a campaign (hoping to pay around $0.25 per click) but no matter what kind of targeting I set up, the lowest suggested CPC was 0.78. Most were closer to 2.00.

Am I missing something? Are the only offers worth doing on FB the ones with EPC in the several dollar range?

Mistakes:
1) Taking network EPC seriously.
2) Expecting a 50% conversion rate at least for a sale offer.

To answer your CPC question. Just put up ads with high CTR's and you'll see your CPC drop. If you get a good CTR in whatever demo your targeting you can go from paying 80c a click to 20c a click.

start with a leadgen offer with high ctr creatives and bid around .50 cent (if impression dont show up increase the bid) and watch the cpc drop, considering other factors to be even

I don't really mess with facebook but it seems pretty good if you can find the right niche. All I see when I got on is 5000004 dating offers so theres gotta be room for new stuff.

how long do you find it takes for cpc to start going down when you have a high ctr?

Take FB suggested bid with a pinch of salt. I always start about 50% lower than suggested and move up slowly (very). But if you have good CTR you should see good traffic coming in even at 50% less than suggested.

Oh and even at the price you bid it doesn't mean that is what you pay. You pay according to your CTR, so even if you did start at $0.70 it doesn't mean you will end up paying that. With a high enough CTR you could be paying even lower than $0.25

Yeah, one of my campaigns was showing a CTR of around 1.5% over a large sample; bid=.65, aCPC=.04.

I always get suggested CPC's of $1 and then after running the ad for ~$5 I can lower it to less than $0.10 CPC.

It's all based on the CTR you can get for each ad.

Not sure if serious.jpg $1+ CPC and running it to a tenth. Thats crazy shit man, if you're pulling that off hat offs to you. Just wondering, what kind of CTR are we talking here?

And OP, if you still there bro,

1. Higher CTR = Lower CPC, IMO anything over .1 CTR will see your bid drop (but not substantially if you're only doing .1).

2. Ad history = older/more consistent your ad = lower CPC + more impressions son

0.3-4% usually drops bids down to $0.10 CPC or lower for my verticals (although my FB account is temporary banned so I'm out of action.

Estimated CPC is bullshit most of the times for me.

Damn, my vertical, suggested CPC is like $1.70, but if I get it to like even 60 cents, I'm profitable. I was going great a few weeks ago until facebook suddenly 3x the bid price for my demo lol
