The rest are understandable... but hmm...

"- Any transaction resulting from traffic that has been redirected off of an Advertiser site (e.g. eBay.com) will be disqualified, and you will not receive commissions. "

Anyone care to help me understand this line?

Could it have been possible someone was setting up auctions on ebay with a link redirecting them, then placing a cookie on them, and then bring them back to ebay for a purchase?

At least that's how it sounds, like shady things are happening right from their site.

Which is gay. The only thing i can think of when I look at it is sellers were using links in their profiles on ebay to redirect, set the cookie, then go to offer so they get sale + 50% of the listing fee back but I'm not positive on that I'm not an eBay user.

Bofu, the 7 day cookie will pick up all the transactions following the targeted purchase. So, that makes sense. An active Ebay buyer buys a lot in a week.

This is targeted at Auctiva and other ebay image hosting sites - When an ebay user clicked to see the larger image on an auction, it would take them to Auctiva's site for the larger image, and then there would be a "back" button on Auctiva's site to take the users back to the auction listing. That back button went through their EPN link.

Good call. Thanks!

It looks like Ebay is trying to crack down on people with seller accounts redirecting or embedding pixels or images in their html from the ebay site(s), I think they are beginning to realize that it has probably gotten a lot of their better publishers booted.

If one or two people do it, they make bank. The problem is that there are a lot more than one or two. Think about if every ebay auction, store page or seller profile sets a different publisher's cookie.

I used to have some pretty good weeks when I would send a shopaholic through my link. But the way it has been lately, a publisher will not get commissions for all transactions 7 days after the targeted purchase if the very next (ebay properties) page they visit has someone else's cookie.

Ebay wants the visitors to be "engaged" with the ebay site(s). It would look bad for the publisher if they bring a visitor in and the visitor only views one page. Even if that is not what they actually did, that is how it will look, according to their "metrics".
