I think more than ever this would be a good idea, the amount is negligible to anyone who provides a good service here ( if you don't plan to make $25 from a sales thread your doing it wrong ) and at the same time it would cut down on all the scam/spam. All the $25 could even go to charity, its more as a gesture that your thread is not a scam than anything else.

FYI, that will help, but it will not "Solve" the problem. I just started trying to market my software (i'm not a marketer) and came across a place called Warrior Forum, and paid 80$ to post a promotion there. In LESS than 14 hours it was GONE from 1st page. In just over 24 hours it was on the BOTTOM OF THE FOURTH PAGE. I'll never pay them for another freaking thing... Anyway, my POINT is that it was in a "paid only" section of their forums.

80$, just THROWN out the window... If i had a budget that afforded me to throw away money, i'd spend it on PPC. If i knew that i would BE throwing away my money, i would have never went there. In retrospect, i wish that i'd have found Wicked Fire FIRST. This forum is heavily moderated, which is GREAT. I would have been HAPPY to pay to advertise / promote my stuff HERE, at Wicked Fire.

I did post something here, too, and it seems like the fate of my post will soon be the same, but that's because people can post stuff for FREE here. If they paid for it, then GENUINE OFFERS would stay on the front page longer.

In summary, i ADVOCATE you guys charging money for the BST section.

Just a tip, if you DO charge money, i'd make it so that threads in that forum cannot get "bumped" in front of newer ones, just because someone replies to it. That way people don't push someone who JUST paid money off the 1st page. I know that WF (the other forum) has a rule that replies do not move a threads position, and if you want back on the front page, you've got to pay 20$ for a bump. I think that's a good idea, it just sux that you don't stay on front page for more than a few hours --that's not worth the money; but, HERE that may work, because you guys ALSO weed out the bullshit.
