Excellent site...

Got to say sites like this turn me off. You spend half the time trying to work out what to do on it. Flash should be for games and maybe banners and that's it.

Pretty cool. Checked out the live construction link. Shipbuilding - not a very green process.

I liked it. Cool full page video intro and then x-ray view on the actual site. The construction vid was sweet to watch as well, I watched it a couple times.

Yea probably should have saved some of that money they spent on the website to save the fish. You just know it was a ton of cash to design that.

A bit difficult to navigate, yeah, but it's a pretty wicked idea that you can purchase specific parts for the ship.

LOLz at the 'certificate of ownership' they send you once you donate.

I can imagine how many sad and lonely people would even print it out and hang it. I'm guessing a % will even hang it.

The irony of people printing out those certificates is not lost on me, but I love it from a marketing stand point.

Brb going to make an Acai product that comes with a certificate of ownership.

I wonder if anybody has ever done a split test with a multimedia site like this and a more "traditional" site with standard copy that just looks good.

I'm starting to see more and more sites like this around, and the first thing I think of is a bunch of clueless execs siting around a boardroom table thinking, "Wow, this looks cool, therefore it will convert well!"

It's a cool site, but is it effective? (or more effective than a more traditional site trying to solicit donations?) I'm not convinced.

But, what do I know...

Good idea, although I found it a bit annoying to navigate.

Not gonna donate though - last year I spent a short period of time in a greenpeace-run freezing cold communal shower with only washing up liquid as shower gel. Plus I had to wait two hours while being lectured.
