Facebook Ads - how do results compare to Adwords?

This is more of a general question to those that have tried both ad services - what has worked better for you?

I want to try FB ads but am concerned they will not pull well for an investment advisory product due to the casual/social aspect of the community purpose when using FB

It is bit difficult to get approved for an ad in FB for affiliate / CPA landing pages.
