Getting the message:

  • There is an outstanding balance of $***** on your account. Your ads will not be displayed until your account balance is settled. Please enter a valid credit card below. When you submit that information, we will charge your credit card for $******.
  • There was an error charging your card. Please try a new card.
Its the same card that has been on file and it has no problems. How do i best handle this? Also I have some sketchy stuff in my account so should I fear contacting facebook?

Had the same exact thing happen to my friend. When he contacted them, they said that due to his ad's; they don't want to further continue a relationship with him. No matter what cards he added, none were being accepted. I'm afraid to tell; but your account and card MAY be passively banned.

I had a similar problem last week contact facebook advertising support .They have separate support for billing issues so you shouldn't worry about your campaigns.
PM me if you want the exact email I got response from.

This is another problem. If they've banned the account there's no way to get it back. But you will lose nothing by contacting them.

Their fraud detection is a huge pain in the ass. I've had this happen a couple times and got it resolved after a few days of waiting. Contact their billing and explain that it was out of your control and that its the fault of your CC company. When they fix it, set up a bunch of backup cards.

Thanks guyz - i shot them an email, lets see what happens.

Meanwhile ive cloacked the campaigns to not look to against TOS.

It looks like you already have this handled. Some of my accounts had this happen over the past two weeks. It is actually not a compliance issue, it was a problem they had with their billing platform. Some cards couldn't get charged, some you couldn't add new cards and some cards that were already loaded (in my case for almost 2 years) got deleted altogether.

In each case, with an email it got corrected. But def cloak your links to be compliant as they will kill them while they are correcting the issue on your account them seem to go over your ads.

If you have any trouble PM me and I can give you some specific examples of what I said to get things back live.

UPDATE: Facebook got back to me overnight. They said it was actually my card declining the charge. I called AMEX and they confirmed they thought it might be fraud so they held the charge. This is retarded since ive spent many many thousand with facebook on the same card. Regardless AMEX authorized facebook to charge me, I re-added the card to the account and now all is well. Thanks guys for the help and pheewwww....that could have been a lot worse :)

I would use another card other than Amex. I had that problem with 2 different gold cards under 2 different names. Those retards have no way of noting on the account that the Facebook charges are legit, and so even after telling them repeatedly not to disable the account it inevitably happened after a week or two of charges.

Ive had problems with American Express too. Its because you have different cards under different names... Looks like fake credit cards or something...

I have this problem all the time. Contact Facebook @ advertising@facbook.com - and write an email with including something similar to "... MySpace Ads had no problem accepting my credit card! Why do I always have this problem with your advertising program?", trust me - they'll have your account fixed in a few seconds.

They are in direct competition with MyAds - and when you mention that you'll be sure to get it working.

I would imagine they laugh at you when you keep name dropping myspace. Facebook obviously couldnt care less about revenue considering its virtually impossible to get an ad approved.

Good to hear it was resolved quickly. You don't have a dedicated AM? If you want one let me know I'll get you set up...it's very helpful to be able to actually CALL someone at FB and get some real help.

lol @narsticle,
You should stay out of Facebook. It's horrible. There is no money there anyways.
... and they always fix the problem quickly when I bring up MySpace - considering they are directly competing with them.

They should have sent out emails for everyone to get in phone contact with them (all my other accounts got these emails earlier last week). I've had a contact for a couple months now - problems get resolved quickly.

There is no money there if you're a lazy fucking retard who'd rather bitch and moan than test and tweak.

FYI: You come off as a douche.

Just got the same email couple hours ago. Actually, I got another backup card on file but it was declined for no reason and detached from my account. Didn't really care cause i thought one was enough.

Such a pain in ass when the traffic just suddenly stop during the peak hour with high ROI.

Will send them an email and see what happen.
