wow that wasn't the announcement i was anticipating or was hoping for at all...i figured they'd be building on or changing the flyer platform they currently run but doesn't look like it

So what's this big announcement that was supposed to happen at noon ( I assume that was NYC time)? Surely this wasn't it: CareerBuilder.ca Builds Job Matching Application on Facebook(R) Platform

Edit: I just found this » Facebook launches its ad platform; Coca-Cola as friend? | Between the Lines | ZDNet.com

[Me to facebook]:

...no people on dating fliers... I'm a little confused... what would
be an appropriate image for people dating other people?

[Facebook]:

I apologize for the confusion - it appears part of my previous email got
deleted. Our current rule regarding dating flyers is that they cannot
include provocative images of individuals. The image on your flyer is
acceptable and we have reactivated your flyer
. You can simply unpause it and start running it again now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for contacting Facebook,

WOOT!
How did you get in touch with someone in their ad team with a brain?

No, seriously, did you use their email address (and if so, which one), or what? Thanks!

Is that with direct linking?

It was a redirect.

It was through the "Flyers FAQ" at the bottom of that page it says
"Still didn't find what you were looking for? Write us a message."

Ok so back to me (:D). So I ran a dating offer and I got a 50 % CTR to the offer according to the affiliate stats but only one lead...does that sound right? ...maybe I should take this to the other threads since it's not really about facebook anymore (No complaints there this time!), although those other threads are mostly about zip submits. Anyway, don't know if I'll be doing this PPC thing to much longer...not sure it's my thang. I just don't like crossing my fingers hoping that I won't get screwed over.

Nope ...don't want to really name names incase it turns out she's wrong and takes it out on my flyer!

ok so you got a 50% CTR but need more info than that to evaluate your campaign....ie: if you had 4 clicks thru your FB ad @.20 cents a click and 2 went to your sponsor and you got 1 lead @ $2 thats still pretty good, on the other hand....well you can figure it out

don't give up on this yet turbo, even if you spend $5/day on this shit at least you are gaining experience and seeing what works and what doesn't...and maybe you'll hit a sweet offer one day...expand & bank :rasta:

Yeah I guess that would have been helpful info...204 clicks

doesn't seem like a winner, change your ad up OR move on & try something else, i have never done well with dating ads on flyers myself...too much competition maybe....go niche about it and try something different or target a different country / age group

That is an interesting turn of events. I take it it wasn't Ryan, Reece, or Ruby who replied to that e-mail?
Reece is fucking worthless - I got a reply from Reece when I contacted their ad team about running a targeted CPM buy of $35,000 - $50,000 a month, and all Reece could do for my questions was say that FB was contractually unable to answer my questions, and that Microsoft would contact me (and not give me any contact info for MS's ad team dealing with FB) in 7 business days.

Never got contacted by Microsoft, and I later found answers to my questions PUBLICLY on Microsoft's advertising website. Apparently, Facebook's contract says they can't pass on publicly available information in order to gain ad buys? :error:

Thanks, turbo, I will try that contact form!

Flyers Pro is no more it looks like.
They're now directing you to Facebook Ads.

Seems like they updated their terms as well. No more flyers tho, these ads look smaller or is it just me?
  1. Accounts

    • Advertisers must not programmatically automate the creation of accounts or ads

Wait, what's reporting a 50% CTR, the affiliate network? If you're directing to straight to the offer and not using a banner from the nework, the CTR shouldn't even exist, since it's the ratio of clicks to banner impressions.

As for the offer, try a different one if the one you have doesn't convert. If that also doesn't convert well enough (meaning profit), try to find a new niche.

Sorry for some reason theres alot of confusion with what i said. flyer-> landingpage/banner with meta refresh-->Offer page. so affiliate is reporting something like 400 impressions and 200 clicks. (which is making me thing the meta refresh is loading too slow...is there away to speed that up?)

If your going to depend on impressions so you are not looking like your using the meta... go with content=1

That is the only explanation for having a banner w/ meta

If it was just the meta I would say go with the 0

You have to realize - The Meta redirect is used in the meta tags before the body tag, in all reality you are telling the User's browser to redirect before the page even loads.
If your image does not load, the impression does not register...
Depending on image size/animation 0 may prevent it from showing

I hope that made sense, im baked
