since they don't allow direct linking, what if you made a landing page and then submitted the ad for approval, and once approved, you set up a redirect from your landing page to the offer itself? would that work?

It's pretty common but you run the risk of being banned, they check links after approval, probably at a certain impression/spend amount to make sure you aren't cloaking. Not worth it IMO, run something legit.

To make it easier for themselves, pretty often the destination URL is shown inside the ad under the title. So if you do change the destination URL after approval, it's very easy for them to tell it was changed; which is against their TOS.

For some reason though, the URL wouldn't always display under all ads. Never could figure out why.

The only time I've done it was when the offer was geo-ip targeted, so I would first have prosper redirecting to the non-aff link, and after approval, I would switch in my affiliate link. Wouldn't have any problems with this since the primary domain remained the same, so the display URL was the either way.

Take the computer you're using, pack it back up in the original box, find your receipt, and take it back to the store. Please explain to the nice customer service person the following:

"Please help me return this as I'm too fucking stupid to use it."

Paypal me $3.50 for the best advice you've ever gotten.

Pretty sure that's against their TOS.. *coughyesitis* Yeah, you destination URL is included when you create the ad, so if you change it after approval it's not like they aren't going to be able to see it.
