find client location

i want to find out where my visitor is from. i dont want to use any serverside language.. i thought using google ajax api clientLocation would help me finding out the location. but for some reason it just doesnt work... so please can someone help me out???

If using javascript such as Jquery and so forth you can use this JSON url geoPlugin's free and easy JSON geolocation webservice explained to pull the country.

... but then how are you going to record your visitor's without using some sort of server sided language?
