ok I am working on getting rid of zango....I've found some software which will pop a modal window just link zango does and then I'll rotate my own toolbar / music download offers using similar tactics as zango? I don't see why that wouldn't work?

I mean both the valueclick in vuew offers and the zangoffers seem to gnerate 5-10% click thrus and zango has a 1:29 conversion....

on the surface that seems to make sense to me, I accomplish getting rid of zango, while retianing the modal window functionality and hopefully make more money and offer a more legit product than zango?
 
I do want to sell it, but I guess it would be behoove me to see if I can figure out how to monetize it effectively, if I can't then I'll consider selling it to someone who can....Brent
 
You've got a site where every other word is "FREE" and you're trying credit cards? Come on man.

Social network traffic (which is probably what you're getting) converts like crap for a lot of people. So why not spend some time on Facebook looking at ads? Maybe create a few different profiles... different genders, ages, interests, etc. See what people are pushing to your visitors already.

Think "FREE". What about some zip/email submits? Ringtones? Itunes vouchers? Free ipods? Music polls? Shit... put up a music poll and make it look like you're actually doing a survey, then after they vote send them to a related zip/email submit. Zwinkys? Webfetti? Amazon.com contextual ads for related CDs or DVDs? Concert and movie tickets? The Guitar Hero submit that's on Neverblue right now? Other games/gaming offers? Free XBox 360?

Pay someone $200 to build you a LOLCat widget generator where your visitors can upload a cat picture and type shit on it and then just put a code on their myspace to display it. Put the generator on another site, see if you can buy an aged domain that isn't too expensive. In that code, put a link to your second site using some fuckin cat keyword (pet insurance? cat training?) and put cat products all over the site. The organic rankings won't last forever but will make you some coin in the meantime.
 
dogcat, you da man (or woman?), some great, solid advice....thanks so much. Thanks to all of you, I am a member of some great new programs, have a bunch of new ideas to test out....and all around, I am excited to see what sort of results will come out of it all.

Thanks for not flaming me, I've been around along time...I know about every aspect of SEO, web marketing, etc.. and have built some great online companies...but I've never played with affiliate marketing, .so thanks for your patience...hopefully in many months, once I've got a few successes under my belt, I will return th favor and contribute as much as I can to other people's successes.

I've seen a bunch, and WF almost always does exactly the right thing - "hi guise, your great, im new and wanna make internet moniez" will get you a sweet kick in the nuts, while a well defined post by a normal & non-lazy person will get a normal response.
 
There is so much more shit you could be doing here, as well.

And get rid of Zango, holy fuck. It's annoying.
