When I first started with adsense, I only had a couple of sites and wasnt even aware of what url channels were for. Now im up to about 8 sites and have installed url channels for all of them.

The problem is Im getting phantom clicks from somewhere and I cant seem to rememebr what the site thats giving me the clicks is.

Is there a method to find out where your adsense code has been pasted without channels, or am I just SOL?

Hazzan,

The only way I can help is to share your pain.

When I first started out with AdSense, I skipped through all the tracking options. I had 20 some sites up and running and started seeing income. But I had no idea what fucking site(s) was bringing me income!

Learn from you're mistake and track the heck out of anything you throw up there!

Bottom line....I think you're screwed.

You're not screwed at all. Create new adsense code with channels and update your sites. 8 really isn't a lot to have to go through by hand. You won't have this problem again in the future.

The problem is that all of the sites that I remember are accounted for. I have the sneaking suspicion that my adsense code is on a sites that Ive never tracked and that I've forgotten about completely.

I have the same problem. Been through all my sites I can remember. Still get clicks out of nowhere.

Hahahaha...

On a related note, I get sales for "The last Samurai" DVD set via amazon which I can't find anywhere on my sites. Once could be a still active cookie, but it happens too often to be coincidence.

As for "forgetting" sites, just go to your hosting/registrar (if you forgot all those, just look for the bills) and look if you have more than 8 domains registered.

I would say you are sol then. Looking at it optimistically though, you could say in a way you are getting some free clicks!

Maybe you can contact google or something and ask them for more detailed stats. Not sure if they would do that but it might be worth a shot.

Later,
Nick

Agreed. I get phantom sales for Norwegian/BassMaster ringtones maybe once or twice a month. always one of those two. NO idea where the hell they could come from.
