In another life I was a legal secretary, if anyone needs assistance getting thru the Secretary of State's offices forms in their State, I might be able to help direct you thru the maze. I have set up several LLC's under a S-Corp on the advice of a CPA. The Redhead

The $129 average order fee they're referring to is fees to them, not fees associated with the state. I looked at MyCorporation when I formed my LLC, and it seems like they upsell a lot of products.

I would imagine as an affiliate you would make 15% on the upsell = $19.35 per "free" order. Not too bad eh?

I think it cost about $125 or $150 in NJ, and the yearly fee is something like $50.

When I filed in MN it was $125 or $130 and there are no annual fees. There is a fee if the address changes though.

Good question. Would an LLC or S-Corp be best for tax purposes for an affiliate marketer with 6 figure revenues?

From what I hear the "magic number" is 250k+ year = s-corp. Although you can setup your llc to be taxed like an s-corp, moving an s to a c is easy while llc to c corp = biggg pain.

Quick, everyone register an LLC just for acai.

I filed a Delaware LLC 3 years ago for $200. Not bad since I also got a year of services from my new registered agent to keep my business in good standing in that state.

I pay them a small fee every year to continue the agency relationship.

This deal looks good, as long as you want to file in the state in which you are located. If you want to file out-of-state, however, you'll need additional services for your business to remain in good standing.
