My CEO and a partner of his had this site developed a few years back. They are both not shy a buck or 2 so this was more of a "giving back" type thing with no monetization, but now I have been tasked with testing and monetizing it. Nothing invasive that will detract from the site or the service, but enough to make a little extra money.
I've been way too busy on other projects to give it a serious going over, so I'm cheating by posting here and asking for your opinions and ideas.
The site is New Ideas Daily - Free Newsletters and Free Marketing Service - Join a Community - I know the copy is pretty weak, so here is a summary of what it is all about...
1) Emails - you can build a list by getting people to opt in to a daily or weekly newsletter. They provide solid interesting content and you control the ads that "your" subscribers will see. (The content really is good and the unsubscribe rate is crazy low... like 0.05% over 6 years or something like that!)
2) Content - they will deliver good content to your site in a widget daily. There are AdSense ads in the content and they give you 74% of any AdSense revenue genereated. I've been told they get an insanely high click through and the ads that are triggered have a very high CPC, but I personally haven't tested yet.
3) As a subscriber, you get the emails and new ideas daily. All pulled from patent offices around the world and re-written into simple English with professionally created graphics. You can choose the categories that of interest to you and disregard the rest. I find it great for generating business and product ideas.
