I just wanted to say hi to everybody here. I have joined the forum to learn more about SEO and marketing my website. I do not have any SEO knowledge to share so I thought I'd start a thread about what I do have experience in, Graphic Design.

So if you need and help or advice feel free to post a question in this thread and I will do my best to answer it.
 


I'll give you your first tip in SEO, ditch your current site - pocketmoneydesigns.co.uk

Flash, eughh. Flash is terrible for SEO purposes, infact I can't think of much worse.
 
Agreed, Google can't pick up any of that text since it's embedded in Flash. That's a good place to start! From there, I like to follow the SEOmoz pyramid:

I learned most of what I know about SEO from SEOmoz.

You can get a 30 day trial of Dreamweaver from Adobe's website. When I discovered dreamweaver I realized how much time I had been wasting trying to do shit.

Honestly though, If you are making a few designs in illustrator - just learn how to install Wordpress, add a theme, and customize it. Its not only simple as shit, but you can make it look badass, how you want, and its a good base for SEO. Plus there are plenty of addons that help (including SEO and Advertising)

Once you learn to customize WP themes with your graphics, your going to wonder why you weren't doing this shit when you were 13.
