Im an inhouse SEO for a white goods merchant.

For the past two weeks we've been offering our affiliates free SEO services in exchange for a back link. All they had to do was give us a couple of discrete text links without affiliate tracking on and in return they got one of the following;

Keyword research
Site audits
Page audits
Content writing
Link building
Competitor analysis
Marketplace analysis
any other SEO service we can offer.

And now we're extending the offer out to anyone who gets in touch.

If you don't know a thing about SEO then don't panic - can give you a starter session in understanding SEO or point you in the direction of some good free resources to get you started.

Just email me the URL of your site and what you're after and I'll see what I can do.

If I think a link from your site is valuable I'll offer you up to a day's worth of work. If it's not worth much then I can maybe spare an hour to help you out.

If you own multiple sites then let me know - the more domains you have to bargain with the more I can offer.

This is a strictly time limited offer - if it works we might extend it out but if not then the only people to benefit will be those that sign up first.

Fire me an email at benjamin.fox@drllimited.co.uk

Addendum - I'm talking about giving free SEO consultancy services in exchange for a link.

The more powerful a link you can offer the more work I can do for you in return. So I will need the URL you will be linking from in order to let you know how much time I can assign you.

This is a supplementary service. It won't get you to #1 on its own but it will help and support your existing SEO. For the cost of a link it is worthwhile.

Aren't these two kind of contradictory? If you don't know anything about SEO, chances are your site is new and/or doesn't rank well and has a PR of 0. A link from a site like that really wouldn't be worth much.

They're not necessarily contradictory. We've worked with some affiliate sites that have been established for a few years, had good content and generated a few links but by helping them properly optimise their onpage content it's improved rankings.

Where a site is new or has very little to offer we can still offer them some help - even if it's just a 30 minute phonecall and some advice on which free resources they should consider looking at.

For people with larger, more established sites, they get more services offered. So if you're an SEO pro and your site is amazing then you tell me what type of work you nheed doing and I get to it. We've had a few people get in touch who have excellent technical skills but very little passion for their content. So in return for a link out of their blog I've written 1600 words of copy.

Running out of time now - if anyone emails me over the weekend I will allocate time ona first come first served basis.

by the way for good keyword research i can advise you semrush - rather cheap tool. Helpful..)

Yeah semrush is a pretty nifty tool to speed up the process although essentially it's just a data organising tool (nothing wrong with that, very valuable piece of kit).

Doesn't quite replace the none-algorithmic/creative connections that a human can make though.
