Freelance Site with GOOD designers? Like, WP theme kinda designers?

Getafreelancer and elance have people that design like it's still 2001. I swear I saw a freelance site last year that had a bunch of quality web2.0ish, clean wordpress theme css blah blah designers on it.

Do you want to pay India/3rd world prices or North American prices? If it's the latter then there is no shortage of good designers to be had here and elsewhere. I might suggest you look locally in your own geographical area for a decent designer that you can sit down with face to face to discuss your projects. Someone that you can build a long term relationship with.

Otherwise I would look to design forums instead of freelancer sites. They all have job posting sections. Places like...

Some people also like 99designs.com but I and other good designers steer clear of competition sites for a large number of reasons. There is no shortage of blog entries and editorials on the evils of speculative/competition design sites so I won't go into it further here.

Why not go after local college kids trying to do design/web dev? Most of them are really good at CSS and, after all, that is WP themes in a nutshell
