This has nothing to do with laziness but overcoming a hurdle that has held back technological, economical and sociological development for a hundred thousand years.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think this is as revolutionary as some may think. Dragon Naturally Speaking -> Google Translate -> Text-to-Voice program.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually Google Translate that it got parsed through, because what else is there? The sheer manpower needed to develop systems that translate between multiple languages like that is enormous. And we all know Google Translate has a ways to go before you can have an intelligible conversation in two different languages.
