Gaaah...I need a windows search tool replacment, help!

Ok, I'm sick of Windows7 Search tool not working. Anyone know of a good replacement?

I'm trying to do a simple file search for every php file that has $HTTP_GET_VARS in it.

Now automatic search and replace would be great but not totally necessary. Need to replace $HTTP_GET_VARS with $_GET

Any ideas, thanks for your time.

You could write a small Windows Powershell script to do a find and replace. Something like

(Get-Content test.php) | 
Foreach-Object {$_ -replace "$HTTP_GET_VARS", "$_GET"} | 
Set-Content test.php

Note: I didn't test this.

I use launchy exclusively, and it saves alot of time clicking and dragging with the mouse and searching for files.

This is more a wild guess since I've never used it, but have you tried Google desktop?

I wouldn't trust google desktop, the program probably collects the file names on your computer and stores it in a database with your profile on it. It is about being Big Brother.

Uninstalling Windows seems to help.

Though I understand that may not be practical, I used to use this:
