Mat asked me to provide a few more details on the keyword selected and the competition for it. It is in a health related niche and has 1900 exact searches. CPC is $4.01 according to him, I got different results but as I'm not really into adsense, it may just me my error, and it is still decent if mine are correct).
Competition is interesting: Strong domains with mostly 1-78 backlinks for the subpage, but none of them actually has the exact keyword in the title or domain. One other exact match domain (.com) is #9, with 57 pages indexed and 145 backlinks on domain and 13 on the subpage that is ranking, coming mostly from articles and blog farms.
The site created for me has only one page with ~300 words, curious if that is gonna make a difference. I added the domain to Backlinksindexer.com for indexing, otherwise I'm not going to touch it since this is about testing the SEO plan too.

Based on what I got, Mat51 certainly knows how to select low-competition keywords. No income until now, then the site has only been in the SERPS for 3 days. Everything is as expected until now.
