Its funny how you discovered your own fake PR after someone else had mentioned it. wow this sounds like you just got caught and wasn't going to say anything until someone caught you slipping. Just my 2 cents buyer beware I've seen this type of seller all the time selling fake pr. All buyers should check the links before buying this type of links.

Travelingboy, I didn't notice until pocketrockets brought it to my attention. Please read his post.

Besides, I've been pretty open about the domains I was using. Anyone who requested to see a link or two were given to them. I had nothing to hide, so I thought. :)

PHPGator PMd me, and I have chosen to receive a refund.

However, I do believe that this was an honest oversight on his part, and not part of a scam. If he offers a new service, or updates this one with new URLs, I'll be back.

Personally happened to me several times when starting the expired domains game, too, especially since alot of backlinks often make the PR look valid, even if it isn't.

In fact, there are alot more expiring domains with fake pagerank than with real. Why? Domains are prepaid, hosting isn't. Once the host gets no more money, they kill the site and often redirect them if the nameservers aren't changed. Or the owner kills the website and wants to keep the traffic that's left till the domain expires and redirects it himself.

Certainly no scam, anyone doing this intentionally would fake higher PRs since it costs nothing to do so.

Well, I guess my method was flawed. I was aware that there were validity PR checkers out there. However, as I was going through there I only purchased domains that I saw had backlinks. I assumed (yes, I know what they say about assuming) that since the domains had backlinks that they would be valid. It is a lesson learned for me.

The only one that I knew didn't have backlinks but I thought might retain PR for whatever reason was one of the PR4's. I figured I would take a chance with that one since I knew the .com version is an established site I had visited before. I thought that since it had a few backlinks it might be able to retain. My guess is that it won't since it has been deemed "FAKE".

Anyhow, I fully intend on fixing this problem and then reopening the doors. My goal is still to build up a network for my personal websites and this is a way for me to do it without investing a bunch of money. I'll just have to make sure I keep a better eye out. :)

@ OP: Next time don't purchase the domains. That's a surefire way to get fake PR. Open some virgin domains right before Google's next PR update and shoot some high PR blog comments at them. I got three sites to PR4 with only $150 and the use of ScrapeBox. That's what I assumed you did. I didn't even think to check for fake PR because I didn't think anyone would be dumb enough to try to pull that shit here (the OP isn't dumb because they had no idea the PR was faked). With a new member I might have checked it (with all the DP dumbshits we've been getting lately), but with the OP being here almost a year, having 9 Itraders, and nearly 200 posts I thought they were reputable in some respect. It really is a shame that the service wasn't all it was cracked up to be. But PHPGator if you want some guidance on how to increase your PR for new sites feel free to PM me.

Guess I don't have much to add here. The links are in the comments section of a one page domain, hence the comment links are in the homepage.

All the links were easily added to the pages with the given email address to PHPGator. As with the fake page ranks, its the two PR4 domains. My comment in one of the fake page rank 4 site is held in moderation, all the rest has been autoapproved. Heres what i got:

2 times PR4 (fake)
1 times PR3
4 times PR2
1 times PR0

I would say if there are no fakes then the price is reasonable.
