New orders are on hold at the minute because some fuck decided to execute a DOS attack on our server. Everything is working perfectly still, we're just getting another server to cope with the strain of 200+ blogs all updating automatically!

Yup, it was the price that attracted me - at 25p a blog I can't lose, especially when I've just paid 20 times that for a greasy KFC lunch :repuke:

Let's say he gets 100 domains done, even if 10 of them renew, that means he makes $30 just for adding those sites to his server. And the remaining, well they just gave him the motivation to work on 90 blogs of his own and paid him 50 cents on top of that

But if a few of them add a load of feeds then it could equal server meltdown...
I've been looking for some sort of formula (to work out what server to rent), but 200 blogs, say 100-500 posts per day = a reasonable amount of resources for half a cent per blog per day.... ~ $1/day for 200 paying custs for something that prob needs more than a $30/month server. ($35/month will get ya a p4 2.4Ghz, 512Mb, 2500Gb dedi)
Assuming it's using mu, generic domain, same theme, etc then the time is fairly insignificant, but 25p for 3 months hosting without the hassle of complaints and stuff still sounds fuckin cheap to me.

Is it using mu? Which plugin?
How many feeds are you adding for each site?
Roughly how many posts does it make per day?
What do you mean by "if your niche is taken..."? (How big are the niches? - is porn one niche or thousands?)
Could we see an example please? (pm if you prefer)
Maybe it's the keywords, ad placement, number of feeds or anything else but you are making more per blog than me so I'm interested.

This must be the best idea bam bam had yet... it's brilliant... People come to him with niches, AND he gets paid for them. If a niche is profitable, he gets much more than the renewal fee - all he has to do it duplicate the site on another domain!

It is using WPMU with a customised plugin.
Each site gets around 5 or 6 feeds, pulling in anything from 20 to 100 feeds per day.
The niche is taken thing, dont worry about that anymore. Its not relevant anymore.
I will PM you an example, haha im not making that much from adsense anymore. Not since my hosting changeover massacre! haha
