Getting data off an unbootable laptop?

Nah, just I know I'll be lucky to have this laptop up and running next Wednesday. Got an on-site appointment put into the regional office today, so making progress!

Now I just have to make an appointment with them, so they can come by the house without a motherboard, look at the computer, and say, "yep, it's broken!". Then off they go to hunt down another mother board, and a few days later should be all fixed up.

Got all my SSH keys and everything back though, so I'm good with this old crappy laptop for a bit.

Have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised. Got a phone call 10am yesterday, 11am he was here, and noon he was gone with a new motherboard in my laptop. If myself and my old next door neighbor were able to communicate the problem better, I would of had the new motherboard installed within 24 hours.

That's better than Canada. Not once has a Dell tech showed up in Canada with parts already in hand (I always go Dell or HP). So there you go. For those worried about "no infrastructure" In Asia, that just ain't true.
