I got the boot from a really profitable CPA campaign that I'd be running.. and the reason I was given was b.s.. So I guess I was doing too well with it and the advertiser wanted me off? That's all I can think of.

I'm pretty new to CPA , this is the first time i've had this happen.. Does this kinda shit happen often?

I'm a bit pissed.. but if this is the norm, then I guess I better get used to it..

Let's just logically think about this.

The advertiser is interested in turning a profit. That means they have to make more money on the leads than the cost of buying them from you. If they are making money on your leads, it would make no sense to turn you away as a publisher*.

More likely what is happening is that your leads are not converting enough for them on the back end, and they are losing money on you. This is just like having a PPC keyword that gets a bunch of clicks but no conversions. You would pull that keyword, wouldn't you? Well thats what the advertiser did to you. They were paying out, but not seeing a return on their investment.

Maybe your free accounts aren't turning into paid accounts, or you have a high percentage of fraud, or your paid accounts aren't recurring for enough months of membership. Any of these possibilities would result in them removing you from the offer.

*1 There is a chance that you're a new affiliate doing a good amount of volume and they want you to slow down to see the quality of your leads before paying you a lot. It doesn't look like thats the case this time around.

Stop bidding on their trademark terms...that did it for me. Gotta make sure they allow it before your do.

I once had a poker site threaten me because I was bidding on their name (apparently they didn't want affiliates doing that). I told them that if they removed me as an affiliate, I'd keep bidding on their name and just send the traffic to another poker site.

are they still going to pay you?

I was told that I was taken off for bidding on trademark terms.. Which I wasn't doing, 100% positive on that... They told me the specific term so I checked it out.. It wasn't in my ppc campaign, and my listing wasn't showing up under that term..

I did some research and found out that this company likes to kick affiliates off ppc terms that they decide they want.. i'm pretty sure this is why they kicked me off, I found a really cheap/high traffic keyword on google that they missed, and I was driving tons of sign ups with it..

after talking to my AM about it, they said they'll put me back on the offer.. let's see what happens..

I hope you didn't tell them the keyword that your using.

Just pour more money into that Keyword!

It's no fun if you're not going to say which network banned you.. Plus it doesn't give them a chance to either defend themselves or better yet for you, come here and make things better by accepting you back in if you promise to behave and not do something lame like that again.

Your not a huge fan of networks are you Jon

By the sounds of things, some networks really take the piss out of their affiliates.

Is there anything we can do?

I read this post last night, but was too sleepy to respond. I am just like Jon, how can you come to a forum, post that you have been kicked off by an affiliate and not name names? Wtf! So what you are saying is, you were wronged, but I don't want to give anyone else the heads up on them? Also, this gives the Affiliate Program the opportunity to come in here and say that you are a lying piece of **** and that you should be dizzle with molasses and placed on an ant hill! So stop being so vague.

I'm new to both CPA and this forum, I was just looking to find out if this kind of thing happens often.. I didn't know if "outing" these types of issues is frowned upon, or even against TOS..

The network is copeac, I'd rather not name the offer as I'm still on it.. But the company claimed I bid on their website name "company.com" and told copeac to take me off the offer. I hadn't bid on that term, all my ppc terms were longtail.. I checked the search listings to be 100% sure, and my ads weren't showing under "company.com"...

But I've resolved the issue with my AM, I'm happy with the way copeac dealt with it.

I'll need to know the offer and the keyword in question to better respond to this thread. Feel free to PM me.
