Hi . . . guys

Just a quickie - Anyone got any hints, tips and information to offer about
getting started in the Article Writing Services business, providing original
content and rewritten articles / content.

I would appreciate any guidance, tips and techniques you can offer that
will get me on my way.

Either focus on quality or quantity. There are tons of guys who write articles for peanuts (1cent/word) so you cant beat quantity.
If you are good, focus on quality, brand yourself as a quality writer and charge higher rates. You will get less work but it might be worth on the long run.

Go to freelance sites, wickedfire SBT. Do some work and always ask for iTrader, higher iTrader gives you better chances of winning future work.

You can try the Freelancing sites, the competition is tough but if you get recruited by somebody large enough to be worth your while, you can make money out of writing. Still make sure you deliver quality work. And by quality , I mean content not poorly written over spinned articles nobody actually reads.
Once you get a name it will be easy to get the work.
 
Keep in mind, that content writing isn't something you take up because you "like to write". It's a means to an end, and before long you will be wishing for that end to come swiftly. Most people want top quality, at rock bottom rates.

Most guys want SEO crud that passes copyscape, and has very little value. Not all, but most. Out of ten people I write for consistently: 1 out of 10 actually want well thought out content. The rest just want their 2%, and proper spelling/grammar.

It's a pessimistic viewpoint, but if you enjoy writing I would suggest writing a novel, or creating a blog.

As for tips: As much as I despise their content - Ezine has an excellent news-letter they send out when you sign up with them. I think it's a weekly email. I scanned through a few of them months ago, and the information looked quite relevant. They get into breaking down articles by paragraph, sentence, word placement, etc.
