For a while ive been wanting to switch to another email provider but didnt find any luck when looking around.. then I saw this thread and decided it would be a good time to switch since I do use a couple gmail accounts.

Your own domain + thunderbird is always the best bet, unless you forget to renew it and it gets snatched up by a domainer you'll never lose your account for any reason.

Should I use my domain name through some kind of email service or should I directly? for some reasno I always get asked to verify a certificate when I open my mail app.. dunno why

I recommend Fastmail. Yes, that's an aff link, but if you sign up, I just get usage credit, can't really make money with them.

And yes, that means I am using them and have been for years. It's a paid service for the more useful account types, but IMO is worth it. IMAP access, a number of domains to choose from, very reliable service and the fact that it's paid means they actually care about you as a customer and respond quickly if you ever have an issue.

I have gmail, and my ISP email both of which are configured to come through Outlook and for all businesses, websites, etc. just set up the emails using pop or Imap or whatever you prefer and collect them in Outlook too or Thunderbird if you prefer.

You can set up different inboxes for each account, subfolders, create sorting filters... etc. I have 5 or 6 email addresses configured this way and it makes keeping tabs on everything really easy. All accounts have webmail access so I can still check up on everything if I am away from my main mail machine.

Has anyone else noticed that GMAIL won't let you create new accounts without phone verification?

Or is that just happening to me because my IP is on the shadymotherfucker list?

Yeah and it really freaked me out for a while since I used different computers just to make 2 different gmail accounts and suddenly they have me do the text verification. I really hate the big G sometimes.

But yeah then I read that other thread (that OP mentioned) and realized it was probably just my LSO's or maybe my IP (I didn't think i needed to use my stealthy methods just to make 2 gmail accounts so I hadn't done any of that ahead of time)

I've never had to do this.

Phone verification whaaaat? I registered around 20 gmail accounts the other day and didn't have this problem - the only thing I noticed is after around 8 registrations it asked for the CAPTCHA 3 times even though I was typing it right time #1 & #2..
