Good Directory Scripts ?

So im trying to find a directory script for free and i realise that most of them really suck...

What im looking for is :
- Paid listing / Advertising / Payment system integrated and as flexible has possible
- user Comments / Reviews
- Seo optimized as much as possible ( good structure )
- people/business that add their listing must be able to put pictures and/or videos in their profile page/listing page

those are the 2 best i found :
Directory X1 - ( the cheapest that was "ok" )
eDirectory - eDirectory Online Software Tour & Demo ( the best i could find )

Im wondering if anyone has started a profitable directory here OR any opinion on which platform to use ...
 


Is there a popular commercial one that has all the features you require? If so, I'd say, buy it, as modding a cheap or free one is a road to pain.

Unless it's a very popular one like PHP Link Directory. I'd try that first. If it doesn't have the features you require, commission a mod for it at Scriptlance or Rentacoder that you can just drop in to a standard install, then release the mod for free with a link to your site in it, perhaps?

See, it's getting complicated already! Buy a good one for a few hundred bucks.

Or don't bother with a directory, unless you have a cunning plan. There are three million directories out there.

PS: Check out classfied ad (Noah's Classifieds) and comunity scripts (PHPFox) as well.
 
You could set up a Joomla site with Sobi2 (directory extension) and SH404 (SEO extension), the review plugin is a seperate download but also free. Has all the features you require and easily customizable, good luck!
