So I noticed today when I went to use the keyword tool that an option to use the previous version was not available. I had been using the older version all this time because it was easy to set the exact match option. I had hoped that before they got rid of the older version they would add this feature to the new version. Does anyone know of a quick way to figure out the number of exact match searches per month on the new version?
 


Btw the old version showed you directly relevant results to your search with kw in the long tail and at the bottom other relevant kws.

Is it possible to get such data in the new one? What I'm getting is mixed results.
 
the data from the old tool is hugely inflated, did you all know that?

i only found out about it last week. i found a keyword with 7000 local searches (exact match) using market samurai and quickly grabbed the exact match domain because it was still available.

then when i checked with the new tool, the keyword was only getting 500 searches.

WTF?

stop scraping from the old tool guys

Both tools are inaccurate. It's just a preliminary step. Al keywords need to be verified with AdWords.

That might be because they recently started limiting results only to searches done on Google.com. See more here: Bizarre results between Keyword tool beta and previous interface. 1000 vs. 550000 results!? - AdWords Help
 
the tool is gone now for me, even if use the link below

Think outside the box guys, .ca is another working extension... just be sure to set your targeting to U.S. searches if that's what you're looking for.
 
Been going through all of my keywords tonight with the new tool and the changes compared to the old tool are huge. As an example, there's a primary keyword that I have been going after for a while now that in the old tool had 9000 exact match local searches a day and the new tool shows just 200 and this is a single keyword item that you will find in every household. The numbers are obviously much more accurate, but I still have little trust in Google for the old numbers that they were throwing together. Not surprised that so many webmasters are pissed.
 
Weird, Magic Niche Finder is still working and I know for a fact this scrapes the old adwords tool.

If it does stop working for you,

On the new version, just do a search, and then you'll see check boxes appear on the left sidebar where you can select broad, exact, broad and exact, etc.

old keyword tool made lots of people lots of monies
