So these last couple of days I've been going around and doing research on SEO and I'm getting really into the game. Since monday, I've averaged 12 hour days researching/buying domains/KW research etc. But the one thing I keep seeing conflicting information on is google adwords competition.

This is going to be from the perspective of somebody who is making a niche site or a made for adsense site.

In many threads, I saw that people were excited about the fact that their google keywords had "high" competition ratings because it meant that more people would bid on their keywords through google adwords (they said that it meant more competition to outbid the other auctioneer on the click).

However, in a couple pretty reputable threads it was said that a low competition score with a high cpc in google is good because there are a not a lot of other people competing for that spot, and that it would be easy to rank and get high clicks.

So which is it? Thanks in advance.

The Adwords keyword tool gives you PPC data. Low competition there != low competition in the SERPs.
