Google jacks more clicks

hahaha Bastards. Soon it won't even be necessary to leave Google...
that is, unless it's for a sponsored click.

They're also testing some AskJeeves type crap by region (putting in "who are the founders of facebook" may or may not give an English sentence as first result for you) that would screw up traffic for our friends at ask, answers and yahoo answers.

I saw that the other day. I also saw that Google is trying to pinpoint release dates for video games right there above the first result.

Do a search for "Battlefield 3 release date" or "Diablo 3 release date" for example.

^ Indeed however alot of the time I've seen it its been wrong right up until a few days til release. They also have currency conversion (e.g 1000 USD in GBP).

Bigger picture is when you search for "how to replace toilet" and GOOG gives you instructions in lieu of SERP Demand Media and their wannabes will wake up and wonder why their routers stopped blinking.

It's not likely. It's inevitable.

The big question: is it just territorial pissing to fend off where Suckerberg and/or a combined Yahoo/AOL would try to leverage Bing-powered search where they already have a portal/destination presence or does it reflect Google watering down "Don't Be Evil" to "No Harm, No Foul?" The dumb little web utilities like these represent a pretty decent chunk of occasionally valuable traffic.

Google UK is showing the comparison ad for "credit cards" too.
Jesus, I don't like where this is going in the future. Maybe we'll start buying land instead of web properties.
