Google QS question....

Here is a basic and fundamental question.

I created a 20 page content rich website. I did my keyword testing on thinner sites to find out what keywords I wanted to focus my larger site on.

I upload said site. On my keywords I had 8QS on about 90% of my keywords. I had QS9 on about 5% and QS7 on about 5%.

I ran the campaign for about 2 hours, got about 300 clicks and paused it to check conversions and see what was working and what was not

My QS overall IMPROVED. Google gave me suggestions on what to lower my bids to to stay on the front page (my goal where was not #1 position) and so I lowered some a bit accordingly.

I started the campaign again. I got 1 click in about 45 minutes. So I went to check what was going on.

Now, the two keywords that brought me 90% of my volume were suddenly QS2. These keywords are all over my site.

All the other keywords were the same, but still no impressions.

So, I talked to Google and they said, "hmmm, don't know why this is. we'll get back with you". Yeh, right.

Any ideas?.....

The only thing I can think of is CLICK THROUGH RATE. But if thats the case,
then the ONLY way I know to stay relevant in Google is to click on my own ads, and throw away a couple of thousand dollars.

I mean, seriously. Is it now that hard to run a campaign on Google?

If I made mistakes, or missed something, please let me know...
 


Same story with me today. I was helping one of my clients put up his campaigns. Since he ruined his account history I decided to throw up the campaign on a new account. Well the keywords got an automatic QS 2, plus the account went under review. 12 hour later, when there was no change, I talked to my rep. Who went over the account, and said that the keyword got a QS 2 because there was barely any search volume. Which was the stupidest thing I've ever heard, this keyword gets at least 10,000 impressions a day. I go on to tell him that I targeted this keyword on another account and got a auto QS 7; so traffic volume cannot be a factor. So he actually admits he was wrong, and says he has no idea.

At the end he tell me to just wait for the account to pass the review stage, and maybe the QS will go up.

Another thing to mention, the landing page was so relevant to the keyword; it was bidding on "Google", and linking to "Google's Search Engine"

Anyway, they are retards. But, I would say wait a day or two, following the rep's words, the QS may bounce back. A month ago I was running credit offers, and had my QS bounce from 9 to 1 every couple hours, unexplanable; just plain gayness.
Only thing to do, is wait for it to bounce back.
 
Let me finish what I started saying. When I actually put up more competitive keywords, that are only relevant to my niche, I actually was hitting QS 7+. Which is quite strange. Would make more sense if all keywords got the QS 2. The algorithm is really fucked up to an extreme level.

You're keywords quickly going into low QS's usually represents a manual review taking into affect most of the time. Contact your rep to expedient it, and hope that it solves the problem.

If its a manual review, then Google is intentionally LIEING.

The QS says Landing Page Great, Ad Text Great, Keyword IRRELEVANT. That particular Keyword is the MOST relevant of all the keywords I have on my site.
 
If you've ran a lot of poor campaigns with low CTRs, your account could have been damaged. If your overall account CTR is very low, then this is gonna impact it too. Check and make changes accordingly.

thanks, but I ran this in a new account. CTR was actually not bad for the 2 hours that I got to actually run it.
 
i was just saying that sometimes, when you start off with a good QS and it drops for no reason, it might be that one of googs human reviewers didnt like the product you were promoting, or maybe how you were promoting it.

Like with acai blogs, or grants and rebill offers somtimes that happens.
