Hey everyone I'm pretty sure I already know what the answer to this is but just looking to see if anyone else feels the same way.
When you go to Google Suggest, they are basically a keyword suggestion tool for you to use, now do the number of results = monthly search volume (How many times that word is searched per month), or does it give an estimate of how many web sites there are for that keyword.
Now think about this because Google Suggest and Google give different numbers if they both show how many websites are listed under a particular keyword.
But if it is giving you the monthly search volume for a particular keyword then why the heck does SEO book keyword tool, word tracker, and Overature, all show such extreme low monthly search volumes compared to Google Suggest?
It could very well be because Google owns like 51% market share and they get 8 to 10 times more searches then Yahoo does.
I'm about to do a search on the board for some more keyword tools, I'm looking for ones that will tell me how much per month a keyword is searched on one of the three Major Search Engines.
I'm doing some longtail keyword research right now and I've got a list of about 150 keywords and its a real mess trying to narrow down the good ones when there is a million search result difference from keword tool to keyword tool.
I'm also going to compare this list to what Google Adworks tool can tell me.
