Sure maybe but not gonna matter in my niche (stock market newsletters). I mean checking GA and 90% of my customers uses IE and maybe 5% use facebook if only to check pics of their grandkids.
Not everybody on the internet is hip with Chrome and Google+. Mind you, it's unbelievable how many of my "esteemed" customers uses Ipads.

dude... I see people... 1 or 2 .. that use google +1 thing. Its a real shit... LOL.. if google did Facebook Like instead of that... The whole thing of WHS and BHS will turn upside down
in theory yes. in reality no, if that happens expect an army of profile bots followed by wave after wave of kiddie "like" scripts
likes would be much easier to harvest en masse than links
crowdsourcing and paying freelancers $0.10 a "+1" seems easier than building links every few days
No matter what will be, we must follow this rumors (or not) and be ready. My personal opinion is that G still testing G+ (and scaring webmasters with adding this in GWT).

They would be stupid not to use it, yea some people will abuse it but its very easy to assign the value of each individual +1 on a few factors in regards to the account. I'm sure stuff like account age, how often they +1, the ratio of normal activity vs +1 activity etc.
