im actually doing the acai berries right now, my epc is over 1.50 but.. im paying like 1.50 per click and i seem to have a horrible bounce rate.

paid for 730 clicks, only 300 or so make it through to the affiliate offer and my landing page use to be a review style page but it really wasnt getting people to click through so i went with the big image "click me" look and still the click through isnt getting anybetter... lost another 700$ today...fuck me.

mate i'm doing well on the free trials at the moment. may i suggest if you are using search:

1) Keep it small at first and build your way out from the center. think of your buying market as a target with the buyers at the bullseye, shoppers in the ring around and browsers on the outside. that in mind start just bidding on the brand name and very close derivatives for a bit until you've got the ad->lp->conversion bit down. its way easier to convert the brand names as peeps are in buying mode already and you're removing a lot of uncontrollable factors while keeping control of the important bits. get some lp split tests going too. i added 3 words to the header of one of mine and ctr went from 43%->78% overnight and stayed there. conversions upped proportionately too. while it may not be as cool to just work with 1 keyword as it is to say bomb 1000 out there it is infinitely more easier to control and once your base is steady and converting nicely (my base hits 300%+ daily now) you have a load of steady funds to expand with and the confidence to make small changes to your ads and lps to hook the buyers and browsers in.

2) Start with Yahoo or Msn not Google first. once you are stable move to G and reap the rewards. G definately doesn't convert as well as the other two but a small tweak here and there should be enough to bring each adgroup nicely into $.

3) throw up a large 100+ adgroup into yahoo or msn with low bids to guage keyword traffic levels without spunking money, just for a night. when you see a keyword getting lots of impressions i optimize it to its own adgroup with new ads and up the bids to place 2-4 for a night or two to see if its converting and work from there. cut the rest.

4) daily spend levels are your friend!

5) once you're all set and you've got a nice list of converting keywords bid high in G - set positioning to 1-3, burn a load of money for one night, then enjoy half price clicks for the next month curtesy of the 20-50% ctr you gained that night. don't try this until your adcopy/lp is tested first. otherwise the spend will be a waste.

i'm new to this but so far after a couple of blowouts on the content network the above strategy is really working out for me on search.
good luck

oh and just thought if you're not already doing so get professional lps made up - it makes a big difference and if you have the time learn how to make them yourself - then editing them for split tests/new copy is a 5 minute job not a 3 day headache

That is a good advice mate but it CAN be hard to drive traffic from few keywords. I personally couldn't find any good Green Tea brand names. Any Suggestions? I currently have 215 keywords and I need to figure ou which ones are going to convert

What PPC network you using? 1.50 Per click is way too much for acai berry related keywords. I am paying around 75cents and getting ranked 1-3.

Yes I am using Yahoo. I am doing direct linking, I personally havent seen any conversions yet but it is early days

Are you spending $700 per day and whats your return like? I still havent got any conversions with extreme offer

well i actually spent 1,000$ that day, made 300$ back.

the conversion rate was good when they actually made it to the page...

but out of the 735 clicks, 260 or so made it to the actual affiliate page and conversion rate was about 4.35% epc was around 1.40-1.50

so not bad really i just need a way to find cheaper clicks. I think i solved my horrible bounce rate.

Nice step-by-step, Itchy. +rep for taking the time to spell it out. I've only been successful doing polls with content network. I think my prob with Search was starting out with too many kw's.

Eric what do you mean by they made it to the page? Do you mean from a lander to the offer? If so optimize your lander. Drop me a line if you need help on it. Once they get to the offer you should be seeing close to 10% conversions if you're using the right offer.

If you're having an issue with a network try another. I'd suggest split testing the same offer on different networks as some times their funny business going on with networks or between a specific network and the advertiser, if you can believe that...

so what will be the good CTR to Offer Page? 35%?

If you are using a gateway page, your conversion rate sounds horrible unless you are using low cost long tail words. We have direct linking guys in the 4% range. Most of the gateway guys are in the 8%-15% conversion rate range.

You gateway bounce rate sounds bad too. Around 50% is what you should be around, unless you are doing a blog thing and then your conversion rate should be closer to 15%

so what will be the good CTR to Offer Page? 35%?

Depends on the offer and what kind of lander you have.

Seems like some people like the more in depth lander that results in lower CTR but higher coversion rate on the offer. Others like the simple lander that results in higher CTR and lower conversion.

For a green tea offer free trial offer, I would shoot for around 50% CTR on a simple lander.

lol are you going to add the javascript which changes the url to your affiliate link. Thanks for the offer but I am fine.

Are you serious? Where is the trust? Not only could you easily remove that javascript if you suspected it of being there (which it's not), you just turned down a landing page already split tested by someone who is very, very good at what he does.

the fuck?
