Thought I'd update you guys on what has been going on. Met a really good friend here at wickedfire who has helped me out immensely the past week or so. Got a campaign together that converted well, with good CTR, and well...

Revenue numbers:
Day 1 - $1,748
Day 2, $441.60


And today is looking really promising as well, more so than Day 2. Probably around Day 1 numbers ;)


Also, STM forums are SO.FUCKING.WORTH.IT.
 
After that post, I just had a really good discussion with my girlfriend, who basically put me back on track. I may have been convincing myself that I wasn't "angry" at Facebook and trying to ditch it... but deep down I realize I was. Having spent 600 dollars on Facebook and not having 1 profitable campaign... plus seeing people who could barely form a full sentence profiting on Facebook just made it all really really frustrating for me deep down.

Facebook DOES work for people, and I can figure out something that works for me. I'm going to speak to my AM right now and see what kind of international dating offers they have (for the much lower CPC) and perhaps other verticals I could try on there. Before I drop Facebook, I need to exhaust every option/idea I have on there.

Awesome journal so far, thanks for the detailed posts. I had the same experience recently when I started out with running dating app install offers on FB- I struggled to get the CTR above .1%, got some conversions, but hovered just below profitable. It sounds like your CTR and revenue jumped pretty dramatically in the past week or two. Are you still running dating offers or did you find this success in another niche? Also, how much would you say that the STM forums contributed to you finding some profitability recently?

Yesterday - 1050 revenue



Received my first "large" direct deposit today! It's starting to feel real now. As others were saying, it starts to feel like meaningless numbers on a screen... almost a video game of sorts. It is surreal. I'm milking one offer right now, but I'm hungrily searching for another solid-converting offer. Tested something in a different country last night with EXTREMELY low saturation of ANYTHING.. and I was very disappointed with the results.

For anyone wondering, "Are You Interested?" offers suck motherfucking dick.
 
Huge jump in revenue...are you starting to profit with those revenue numbers?

Great case study! Prosper is great tool for Facebook. You can swap the offer out with out having to go through the approval process again. I had an experienced dating affiliate do a presentation at a meetup202 I threw. I will go back through and look for your email, if it is not there PM me it and I will forward you his power point presentation(and any other noobs as well). lol. Keep it up.

This is EXACTLY my main focus right now. I've been talking to my AM trying to work on finding something else solid. I've definitely got way more breathing room now and I am ready to bring in even more serious amounts of traffic. Work with me here, affiliate networks! ;)

Any ROI numbers? The revenue only tells half the story...
 
Varies from 60-260. Crazy how much variation there can be by hour/by day/etc.

I am heading to my "offline" job right now.. where I make minimum wage.. and I can honestly say it feels like absolute torment. I'm making more in a day than I make in 2 months there. I don't want to quit yet though, because as other's have said, I don't want to just be a 1-hit wonder. All I want is 1 more "successful", scale-able campaign like the one I've been working on now, and then I'm GONE.

That's 60-260% ROI? If so, those are great numbers. Smart to hold on to your day gig until you've got another campaign or two turning over some cash. Lots of variance in FB PPC. Still though, I don't think it will be long before you crack it again. Congrats.

Congrats man, I know how frustrating a minimum wage job can be. Been interested in Facebook myself. This gave the inspiration to start myself.
