Good Post Mike, When people find out that I do AM, most either want to learn how to do it too, or accuse me of ruining the internet with SPAM and pop-ups. lol.

When someone wants to learn I tell them to come to wickedfire and read every post.

When someone accuses me of SPAM and pop-ups I tell them to come to wickedfire and make a post how they are new and are from DP ;)

While speaking and reaching your goals, balance enjoyment of where you are at with enough dissatisfaction that you don't settle for where you are at. If you don't develop that skill, when you reach long worked for goals it will not be as sweet as you imagined and hoped for.

"Speaking it and it will happen" has it's powers. It is limited, though.....it will be Monday today no matter how often I repeat "it is Friday". If I say it long enough, eventually Friday it will be Friday! A little known movie "What the Bleep Do We Know" explains how what we say actually can change how our cells reproduce! The Bible described the power of our spoken words a long time ago. It might be a new theory to some of us, but it really isn't new at all.

The quote "Sometimes one must trample the weak and hurdle the dead to succeed" was inspired by a t-shirt I saw someone wearing at Wal-Mart. To me, it's about not letting others slow you down, not about meanness or being cold-hearted.

You're attitude and mindset will determine whether or not you'll make it in this industry, or any industry for that matter.

That's a good point, but I wonder what might get people hung up about affiliate marketing. Here's a few I thought of:

1. Bad reputation for affiliates. It seems they are seen as the used car salespeople of the internet. Sure, overzealous n00bs and spammers do some crazy things, but let's remember that it's often very respected and mainstream companies that sponsor these programs. Got a problem with affiliate marketing? Go call Bezos and tell him to shut off Amazon's associates program. The big G bugs me the worst with that. They "slap" PPC campaigns but ran the Adsense ref program and now own their own affiliate network. Maybe they should slap themselves.

2. What affiliates sell. If putting out a link to the "ZOMG U CAN MAKE 100K AT HOME A DAY WHILE REPAIRING UR CREDIT" eBook deal makes you sick -- don't do it. There are simply TOO many types of merchants to not find ones you are ok with.

3. Selling things. Got a problem selling things? Get over it. You sell yourself to your boss, your spouse, just about anyone you come in contact with. It's part of life.

Did I miss something? That's a few of the hurdles I've encountered. I'm still very new at this and am not "there" in terms of the final (money) connection, but I think I'm close. Those are a few of the hurdles I've faced, but I'm over them and am determined to succeed.
