Has anyone ever been an Advertiser (as opposed to Publisher)?

I never really thought about being an advertiser, as my short 1 year thus far in the AM industry has been chock full of launching as many PPC campaigns as possible.

Is being an advertiser as simple and as much as a win-win situation as it seems? For instance:

- Network A pays you $20 for offer X. You get the whitelabel for it.

- Network B has a need for offer X. You sign up as an advertiser with your whitelabel. You give the network a $17 CPA and they pay affiliates a $15 CPA. I net $3 per conversion for doing nothing except keeping an eye on quality issues and compliance.

Since you only pay on the CPA, it seems like a win-win situation. What am I missing here?

That would make you a broker, not really an advertiser, since your leads end up at an advertiser in the end, and the advertiser is working for clients. Being a broker is as easy as it sounds, but the trick is getting yourself some whitelable offers with a high enough payout to make a worthwhile margin. You can hunt down some advertisers to go direct with, but they will probably only build you a white label if you can show them some decent quality/volume on one of their existing campaigns first. Get enough white labels and you too can have the pleasure of being a network yourself!

they key is relationships, you can have a white label but if everyone you know is allready working direct with the true advertiser, it does you no good. Most white labels look like white labels too, generic and gay, you start deluting brands and typically only a few of the top brands get most of the traffic and pay out the most. It can be done, but it's all about who you know.
