I put in an order for a website utility and the confirmation page had something that i liked a lot. There was a section for "one time special offers for new customers" with a countdown timer going. Even though I knew it was a gimmick I felt a bit pressured to read the offers before the time ran out. Most of the offers were tiered from a small amount "standard service" to a high dollar 'premium service". There wasn't any explanation for what the higher tier services offered extra.
have you guys tried using these high pressure tactics on your websites? i wonder if it works or not, the countdown timer seemed like a nice touch!
